On September 12, 2014, while standing pool side in Miami, Florida for Kyla’s bachelorette party, I accepted a new position as a brand manager with Mercy Health! I remember the feeling of pure happiness to be offered such a wonderful role and sheer relief to be leaving the position I was currently in. I was bouncing back and forth between phone calls with my parents, while the music blared by the pool, to tell them the news — mom was so happy she cried and I could hear how proud my dad was of me through his supportive words. Back to the pool to celebrate with the girls and a cocktail!
The hardest part about leaving a company, for me, is leaving the people you’ve grown to care about. I made friends at Barefoot that I have continued to stay in touch with and if all goes as planned, hope to always keep in touch with them. I learned many marketing and life lessons at Barefoot, but it was time for a change.
I started my position at Mercy Health on Monday, October 13. I can honestly say, so far, it has been everything I had hoped it would be and more. A change from agency life I so desired, a kind, encouraging, welcoming boss and team that truly cares about me. It has been such a wonderful experience thus far.
As I’m now at day 7 on the job, I’m starting to understanding things a bit more, but certainly have a very long way to go. I’m anxious to make a positive impact on the team and help make something wonderful, even better.
